Chamomile Cafe, Englands Lane

3rd April 2009, 1:58pm

Where do you go for a good English breakfast in this area? Try the Chamomile Cafe in Englands Lane. Definately worth a visit, although a little pricey this little cafe does great food. Pick up a paper as you go in, find a table at the back and relax.

After looking at the menu for 20 nano seconds I decided that although it being the healthy option and all that I would give the old muesli a miss and went straight to the Full English Breakfast. The usual 2 eggs, 2 sausages, bacon, a great big mushroom and a grilled tomato. Served with lovely home made bread and of course the obligatory tea or coffee - it went down a treat! All for £6.95.

What was really nice about this place was the relaxed atmosphere, I think I could of stayed there all day reading my Sunday papers and nobody would of minded. Don't take my word for it, next time your wandering along Englands Lane - give this Cafe a visit.

I agree, Chamomile is lovely! The food is great quality and really hits the spot on a lazy weekend visit. The weekday Specials and Counter salads are also a treat (and healthy too).

Unlike the reviewer above, I regard Chamomile as one of the most reasonably priced places around - great big breakfast and drink £6.95; two course set lunch £8.20 (mon-Fri) and freshly prepared specials and menu regulars such as Spring Vegetable & Herb Risotto Bake with parmesan & rocket salad (£6.95) Jacket potato with filling and salad (£5.95) or my most recent lunch there, Smoked Haddock Chowder with homemade rustic bread at a very reasonable £4.95.

I am very glad to have Chamomile as my local. It's the best around, so give it a try! :-)

I know its Hampstead but £6.95 for a breakfast is on the expensive side! and I don't think that to quote "2 eggs, 2 sausages, bacon, a great big mushroom and a grilled tomato" is what I would call a great big breakfast. I have eaten at this place about a year ago and enjoyed the food but I did think it was expensive.

Chamomile is a great place to eat, lovely atmosphere and friendly staff. Their salads are yummy (warm goats cheese salad), and their desserts heavenly (chocolate brownie with marshmallows and banoffee pie). Reasonable priced too.

chamomile seems very concerned about health and hygiene and I could see how they implement it. well done!
